Kerry's Stanford graduation 2010

Education is my passion.  The last 12 years have been dedicated to public education in elementary school, middle school, high school, and beyond.

I have worked with students in a wide variety of settings and with a wide range of needs. I have had great success with at-risk students, high-achieving students, and students with learning differences. By developing strong relationships with my students, I recognize their unique gifts, and I help build their confidence. I have developed a character education curriculum that focuses on student superpowers and provides support when they need to develop and hone their character.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have provided individualized after-school tutoring and have been a full-time teacher in an at-home setting. I have been deeply involved in curriculum development throughout my career, including creating science curricula using the Ambitious Science Teaching framework.

I am inspired by working with students and helping them navigate their educational path.

Tessa's graduation, SPU, 2015

I am a qualified elementary education and special education teacher with experience working with children from early years up to high school age. I have a strong background in creating individual academic learning programs, teaching executive functioning skills, and supporting social skill development. I love working together with children and families to provide a well- rounded approach that addresses the family’s needs.

Over my teaching career, I have worked with a wide range of student abilities and have used multiple teaching approaches, including 1:1 support and over Zoom. I have led teacher trainings, attended conferences, and attained additional graduate certificates to support my passion for educating children. I am dedicated to continuing professional development and learning experiences that help me better assist the families I work with.

I took time off from classroom teaching to raise my three boys, and I am now supporting individual students and families with their education goals. I would love to talk to you about your child's needs and goals. I am available for academic tutoring, individualized curriculum planning, teaching executive functioning skills, and social skills support.
